FIREPROOF GLASS
Fire-resistant glass is a specialized safety glass designed to help slow the spread of fire, heat, flames, and smoke during emergency situations. It is used as part of a fire-rated glazing system to help protect people, property, and escape routes inside a building.
Depending on the required fire rating and project specification, fire-resistant glass may be produced as single fire-rated glass, laminated fire-resistant glass, insulated fire-resistant glass, or composite fire-rated glass. Each type is engineered to maintain visibility while providing protection under fire exposure for a specified period of time.
Applications
Fire-resistant glass is commonly used in buildings and areas where fire safety is required.
Typical applications include:
- Fire-rated windows
- Fire-resistant doors
- Smoke baffles
- Fire-rated glass partitions
- Stairways and escape routes
- Corridors and lobby areas
- Commercial buildings, hospitals, schools, hotels, offices, and public facilities
